Hello lovely crafters — and welcome to the very first episode of the podcast!
I’m so excited (and a little bit nervous!) to launch this project into the world. In this debut episode, I take you through my personal journey into the world of crafting — from those early days, to stepping away from it all, and ultimately returning to it as a form of self-care and connection.
✨ My Crafting Journey
Crafting has always been a part of me. Like many of us, I started young — learning simple crafts, and studying art in school. But as my passion for film, television and wildlife grew and took centre stage, crafting slowly slipped into the background.

It wasn’t until later — during a particularly overwhelming time — 2020 lockdowns - that I found myself drawn back to arts and crafts, particularly the fiber arts. What began as a way to cope with stress became something much deeper. Crafting helped me reconnect with myself. It gave me space to breathe. It grounded me. And that’s when I realised: this isn’t just about making things — it’s about messing up, learning and creating things anyway.I then fully dived into the world of fiber crafts as a teacher, small business owner and now podcaster.

🎙️ Why This Podcast Exists
This podcast is for beginners, for the curious, for those who have felt drawn to craft but didn’t know where to start. It’s for anyone who wants to create with intention, to explore fiber arts not only as a hobby but perhaps as a form of mindfulness, expression, and joy.
Each week, I’ll share personal stories, helpful tips, and answers to listener questions about getting started with fiber crafts — whether that’s knitting, crochet, weaving, or something new. I’ll also be diving into themes like creative confidence, making mistakes (and why that’s a good thing!), and the healing power of handmade.
🌱 What’s Coming Up
In future episodes, we’ll explore:
How to choose your first craft
Tools and materials for beginners
Creative blocks and how to overcome them
The importance of process over perfection
Interviews and stories from other makers and fiber artists
Whether you’re starting from scratch or picking the needles back up after years away, you are so welcome here.
